ABH is primarily for clinical students of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. This includes students in Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Science who are in their clinical years.
Yes, Alexander Brown Hall is a mixed hall of residence, housing both male and female students in separate blocks or designated areas within blocks.
Accommodation is allocated by the Student Affairs Division upon payment of the necessary hall dues and levies. Priority is typically given to clinical students due to the necessity of proximity to UCH.
Standard rooms are typically 2-man rooms. The hall provides electricity, water supply, and security. There are also common rooms with TV (DSTV & HiTV), reading rooms for study, and kitchenette areas.
Basic appliances like fans and laptops are allowed. However, heavy-duty appliances like hotplates and large fridges may have restrictions to prevent overloading the electrical grid. Please consult the Hall Warden's office for the current handbook rules.
The hall boasts a 5-aside football pitch, basketball court, volleyball court, and a gymnasium. There is also a gaming centre (Arema) for recreation.
