Origin Story

The Beginning

Alexander Brown Hall was established in 1957. It is named after the late Professor Alexander Brown, a prominent physician and the first Professor of Medicine at the University of Ibadan, whose vision for medical education laid the groundwork for the institution.

As the primary residence for clinical students in Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, and other clinical sciences, ABH has always held a unique position. Situated within the University College Hospital (UCH) premises, it facilitates the essential proximity to clinical training grounds that defines the 'Brownite' experience.
